Confronted with the mechanics of control and censorship in their home country of Iran, Chupan Mehraneh Atashi started searching for other ways of portraying themselves. Captivated by their self-portraits and pictures of flowers, Katayoon Barzegar follows the artist as they install their exhibition at EKKM in Estonia, and traces the fruitful symbols of seeds and flowers in their work.

In KM21 Den Haag toont nieuw werk van Tai Shani (1976), die in 2019 de Turner Prize won. De tentoonstelling genaamd Our Hieromantics of Love is haar debuut in Nederland waarvoor ze speciaal enkele installaties maakte. Er is tevens een mede door KM21 geproduceerde film te zien.

Met het oog op de extreemrechtse wending in de Nederlandse politiek bundelen wij de eerste vier bijdragen uit ons onderzoek naar Nationalisme en kunst in Europa. In het kader daarvan keken we afgelopen maanden al naar de gevolgen van van het populistisch rechts-nationalistische, maar in sommige gevallen ook links-nationalistische beleid in Polen, Hongarije, België en Servië.
