After an eight-year renovation full of drama, including a three-year delay, a bankrupt construction company, budget exceedings by millions of euros's - to name but a few - the beautiful, new (empty) Stedelijk Museum opens its doors to the press.

The public opening of the new building, designed by Benthem Crouwel Architects, will be on September 23rd 2012, with a solo-exhibition by Mike Kelley, who recently passed away. Here's a preview of the renovated old and the new building:
